The Untold Lie - Continued
Carried on working on my original idea, then made a alternate one. I tried to go back to the way I worked before as I've been struggling of late.

The Untold Lie
Continuing with my book covers project for Twentieth Century American short stories. The first is 'The Untold Lie' by Sherwood Anderson. The story is basically about the moral choices of two male farm workers, one, married with 6 children and the other a rebellious young man who has gotten a local women pregnant.
Above is the initial composition I came up with.
Talking Graphics
Attended a talk yesterday with Birmingham based graphic designer James Langdon.
Not really knowing too much about what it takes to be a graphic designer, I was very interested to see what sort of stuff they do. I must admit I was impressed by the things he and his colleagues did. I also managed to glean some ideas from listening to him talk about his process and the books hes produced independently.
Thoroughly Enjoyable (if a little long)

American Short Stories Project Update
A chat with a Pro
Yesterday our lecture was given by the Illustrator Ian Dodds.
I found it extremely interesting and useful. I also found it spooky that most of the things he said or spoke about have in someway happened to me.
Also had the privilege of sitting down with Ian after the lecture and having a chat about my work and what steps I should take next. Hopefully I will take on board his advice and take the initiative and start to put myself out there!
